Identification:
Lexus RX400h logo on hatchback door,
gasoline fuel filler located on left side quarter panel.
ALWAYS APPROACH
VEHICLE FROM THE SIDE
1.
Chock vehicle wheels front
and back, crib for
extrication, set parking brake, move shift lever to (P) Park.
2.
Operate all electrical
items necessary for
extrication, recovery or transport, prior to disabling ignition electrical
system. Ex: power seats, lower windows, unlock doors, lift gate, adjust
steering column & brake pedals.
3.
Disable Vehicle
Performing either of the following 2 procedures will shut the vehicle off
and disable the High Voltage battery pack, SRS and gasoline fuel pump.

Procedure #1
a.
Turn
ignition key off, remove key.
Keep Smart/Intelligent Keys 16 feet away from vehicle.
b.
Disconnect 12v battery Negative (-) cable 1st,
Positive (+) cable 2nd. Battery located on passenger side in
engine compartment under engine compartment covers. |
Procedure #2
Can’t access key?
a. Disconnect 12v battery Negative (-) cable 1st,
Positive (+) cable 2nd. Battery located on passenger side in
engine compartment under engine compartment covers.
b. Removing all fuses from fuse box also disables ignition. Fuse box
located on driver side of engine compartment. |
High Voltage system may
remain powered up to 5 minutes after vehicle is shut off or
disabled.
SRS may remain powered up to 90 seconds after vehicle is
shut off or disabled.
High Voltage Cable Color: ORANGE
High Voltage Cable Routing:
From Battery Pack passenger compartment
mounted to cross member and under rear seat, under floor pan along center
under side of vehicle to engine compartment.
Note: When 1 or more air bags DO NOT DEPLOY, disabling 12v power is
ESSENTIAL to ENSURE PERSONAL SAFETY.
